Learning About Dog Motion

Cue the music “Do the Locomotion With Me”

Lyrics: Everybody’s doing a brand-new dance, now / (Come on baby, do the loco-motion) / I know you’ll get to like it if you give it a chance now / (Come on baby, do the loco-motion)

Everyday we watch our dogs walk and run through the house, the yard and around an agility course. It’s an action that dogs seem to come by naturally and unless there is an injury, we probably don’t give their movement much thought.

In the spirit of appreciating the mechanics of motion of our 4-legged agility partner, here is a great 10-minute tutorial on their locomotion.
